Practico might look like a savage mercenary, but there is reason behind his rage, and that reason is neither fortune, nor power, but a deep concern for the future of Earth from beyond the stars. Resembling a rabbit, Practico’s creator and alter ego is the brilliant alien scientist known as Theo Reese. Theo came to Earth help heal the planet’s ravaged climate. Disguised as a professor of Biology, Theo proffers the enlightenment of a new ethical science which negates the need for human and animal testing, but has been met with threats and animus from humankind’s corporations and governments. In secret, mild-mannered Theo Reese clandestinely created the Lepus Elixir in his laboratory, the very substance which allows him to transform himself into Practico. Practico only has super powers for two short hours before reverting back to the meek, but well-meaning doctor, so the team of Theo and Practico must act quickly and decisively to protect Earth, its people, and its animal life from impending doom.
When it comes to a lack of ethics, there is no greater foe to Theo and Practico than the devilish Dr. Bugg and his arthro-minions. Masquerading as human CEO, C. Roach Crocker, Dr. Bugg purports a love for humanity with his vast chain of discount bulk stores, while secretly developing chemicals to lull the public into at state of subdued compliance. Dr. Bugg sees the Lepus Elixir as the chemical piece de resistance for his plans of world domination, and will do everything in his power to capture Practico to extract the formula from his bones. While Dr. Reese abhors violence, he knows that Practico is the world’s last, best hope for preserving human life, animal life, and the life of the planet.
To aid their mission, Theo and Practico have developed an arsenal of carrot-based weapons, all of which are stored in Dr. Reese’s unassuming university office. The weapons are nothing without Practico’s martial arts expertise, super strength, keen eyesight, and the ability to jump to great heights with his spring-like legs. Though Practico has all of the aforementioned skills and qualitites, he bears little trace of Dr. Reese’s brilliance and aptitude for abstract thought. For this reason, Theo connects with Practico via a wrist communicator, which plays pre-recorded messages designed to help Practico with his risky missions. Dr. Reese has a knack for calculating risks, probabilities, and variables, therefore most of the communiques from Theo are uncannily accurate to Practico’s present circumstances, and can provide the appropriate help. But where theories can only guide so far, practice must step in. This is when Practico takes control, and kicks some serious bug tail.
